Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Brought Thousands Together in Bosnia in a Ramadan Feast
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Cultural Department and IBB subsidiary Kültür A.Ş realized a special series of events in Ramadan in Bosnia and Herzegovina in line with the directives of President Mevlüt Uysal.
Within the scope of the activities, İBB brought together thousands of Bosnian and Turkish citizens in Sarajevo on 8 June, and on 9 June brought together more than 3 thousand veterans, their families and the families of martyrs in Zenica city. Within the scope of the activities, on the 10th and 11th of June, conferences, and exhibitions on Palestine and Jerusalem were organized in Istanbul Culture House.
Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Culture Department and IBB Kültür A.Ş, which protects the historical and cultural values of Istanbul, has organized an iftar program in Bosnia Herzegovina's capital, Sarajevo.
The 'İstanbul Ramadan in Sarajevo' program, which was organized with the participation of Kemal Kaptaner, General Manager of Kültür A.Ş, representing Mevlüt Uysal the Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor, started with the mehter team's show and chants of the Bosnian Herzegovina "Sultan Abdulhamid" Choir in different languages.
After the reading of Holy Qur'an, the Sarajevos who filled the area of iftar sang along the chants sang by Burhan Şaban, Hanka Paldum and Orhan Çakmak, and “sevdalinka” the traditional folk songs of Bosnia and Herzegovina. While the children were given gifts within the scope of the program, they enjoyed themselves with Hacivat and Karagöz. In addition, cotton candy, Ottoman paste, and sherbet were distributed in the iftar area and the traditional Turkish tastes were brought to the Bosnian people.
Ramadan events continue in different cities on June 10-11
Within the framework of Ramadan activities in Sarajevo, on June 10, Istanbul Culture House held a conference and exhibition on Palestine and Jerusalem, followed by an iftar program. Iftar program was organized with the participation of Embassy of the Republic of Turkey, Islam, and European Embassies Representatives. During the program a reading of Holy Qur'an, Sufi music and chants concert took place. The iftar program in Istanbul Culture House is held on June 11th with the attendance of academicians, students and representatives of non-governmental organizations.
